The Iphone 5S - A Beautiful Smartphone But Is It Different Enough?

By Julie Pearson

The Apple iPhone 5S, although it appears to be much like the Apple iPhone 5 and the Apple iPhone 5C, is definitely relatively different in numerous ways. Yet, are those differences going to be quite adequate enough to get it the attention which Apple anxiously want?

We've been here previously: the iPhone 'S' dilemma. The newest cellphone arrives, taking the shell of the previous unit, offers several fresh odds and ends, after which, Apple claims it to be a totally new cell phone.

Which in this case, it is, obviously. But also, it isn't. Well, mainly it is. To be sure, it's the sort of move that only Apple can pull off with any kind of conviction: the thought that it will take the identical construction, add in a new CPU, slightly improved battery and a camera makeover, and consider it an all-conquering new tool.

But then again, such is the consumer enthusiasm to know all about it, so is this such a damaging move? There are actually literally millions of people across the globe who can't hang on longer to discover what the up-coming handset from Apple shall be.

You will find, needless to say, that those who might question the intent involved with releasing a phone then, 12 months or so later on, simply add an 'S' on the end of it in order to make it seem to be totally different - Apple's reaction would probably be that nobody is actually pushing them to buy the new hardware. And that's a decent point. Sure, this is a cell phone that includes many hallmarks of its forerunners. And yes, it is the third time Apple has done this. The response coming from the Apple Company would likely be that no-one will be required to buy the 5S phone, therefore, if people feel it isn't for them, so be it.

Also, Apple has managed to add it onto the market, complete among the list of the most costly Smartphones around, even with 3G plans. You will be looking at in excess of $80 a month to have one without an upfront charge in the USA, and upwards of $800 will be the price tag if you wish the cheapest available model, pushing all the way up to more than $1,000 for the 64GB option.

iPhone 5S Review

However, if it were such a poor business move, and if the market wasn't happy to allow for this, then Apple will have folded up as a Smartphone brand name years back... or at least been lagging quite some way behind the competition.

Then again, things are changing within the Smartphone landscape. Where in the past, Apple could merely produce the phone it preferred, and forget about its' competition, safe in the knowledge that it was not going to need to bother about losing out on customers to a rival, these days it has been compelled to be aware that there are actually four or five decent alternatives for a buyer to take into consideration should they wish to get a relatively decent phone.

Apple is obviously conscious of this marketplace alteration, whether it is with respect to the aluminum unibody of the HTC One, the recent battle into low-light cameras or perhaps the requirement for a powerful processor as a headline to shout about. And to be truthful, it's attended to these kind of needs to some extent or other with the iPhone 5S.

Regardless of whether it's the all-new Touch ID home button (and that is superb), the huge leap in CPU power, or perhaps the fact the camera has, once again, been greatly improved upon in comparison to the iPhone 5 predecessor, the brand new iPhone is undoubtedly Apple's effort at bringing as much as it possibly could to the party without needing to re-plan the whole ethos over again.
