Mobile App Stats From New York Web Design Specialists

By Arthur Williams

If there's one thing that we have learned from 2016, it's that mobile apps show no signs of slowing down in terms of activity. New York web design companies understand the importance of building for mobile devices, which means that apps will be a mainstay. However, there are certain numbers and facts you might not know. For those who pride themselves on being app enthusiasts, here are some stats you may not know.

To start off, did you know that 25 percent of apps downloaded aren't even opened? One of the reasons for this - and I am sure that any New York web design company will agree - has to do with the fact that most apps are free. What this means is that it's entirely plausible to download them without feeling bothered to boot them up. There are other stats to be aware of, though, and companies such as Avatar New York can tell you all about them.

It's also worth noting that a vast majority of people - around 90 percent or so - spend more time on apps than they do their mobile browsers. It's easy to see why, seeing as how apps are designed with more of a mobile focus, whereas websites cover a variety of platforms. Mobile browsers are functional, without question, but they don't always lead to better user experiences. Needless to say, this is where apps come into the fold.

TechCrunch published an article in June of last year, essentially stating that customers spend roughly 85 percent of their time on smartphones. Needless to say, this has led to an increase demand in apps across different interests. This goes far beyond games, as your local New York Internet marketing company will tell you. As a matter of fact, some of the most popular apps are social ones like Facebook and Instagram. Such a statistic is, for lack of better terms, head-turning.

Of course, these are just a few of the most interesting stats regarding mobile apps and how they're used. Whether you're an aspiring developer or someone who simply likes using apps for fun, it's enjoyable to learn about the programs we oftentimes take for granted. Where would we be without these digital luxuries? Needless to say, apps are popular and this shows no signs of fading anytime soon.
