A more itemized list into their usual working activities include the installation and configuration of computer hardware systems and applications; monitoring and maintenance of computer systems and networks, providing consultation to inquiring clients regarding a series of actions that must be made either in person or through phone as clients try to set up systems or resolve issues of IT equipments, troubleshoot issues on the system and network, and diagnosing and solving hardware or software errors.

IT support technicians are the most appropriate person to contact if you need to replace parts of your computer, along with its wiring, and accessories. They can also roll out new computer applications. In replacing hardware parts of your computer including its wirings and accessories, they provide the needed information. They assist in rolling out new computer apps and provide assistance in documentation of procedures and provide relevant reports. They also help you understand diagrams and other written instruction to resolve fault in the systems set-up.

IT support technicians may also help in setting up new user's accounts and profiles and assist in dealing with password issues. In addition they may also serve as the middle man in establishing good relationships with clients and software developers. One of their most important roles is also to test and evaluate new technology.

As more organizations become dependent on computers on their operation and decision making processes, this IT field has also become one of the most important component in the success of organizations. No doubt, IT Support is now one of the most competitive fields of profession.
